I don't make a lot of clothing (especially for myself) as I'm often disappointed with the result and they get shoved in the back of the cupboard and never see the light of day. Not the case with this blouse which I wore on Australia Day last weekend......
The pattern was the Diane Kimono Dress from Serendiptiy Studios which I bought here.... I made the tunic length but I now have plans to make a couple of knee length ones which will be perfect for our next beach holiday! The pattern was very well written and my shirt went together beautifully with no stress (gotta love that).
And who's Australia Day would be complete without a lamington feast?
I made this cake using the recipe here....Mine doesn't look as pretty but it was delicious!
Until next time....

lovely sewing and your cake looks yummy.xx
ReplyDeleteLove your top! So nice when its a great pattern!
ReplyDeleteOh that top is gorgeous! I love the style!
ReplyDeleteI have that pattern in the cupboard - you've inspired me to get it out and have a try!
ReplyDeleteYour top is stunning, I'd be using that pattern again too. One of the girls at work was telling us they brought a lamington cake in the shape of Australia & one decorated to be a thong with licorice straps. They took them to celebrate Australia Day with friends in hospital & made everyone smile. Tracee xx
ReplyDeleteYou did a nice job! Yours looks more fitted than the one on the packaging, and I like yours much better. Very pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteYour blouse is lovely. I don't tend to make clothes for myself either. I used to make the boy's tracksuits and things and the odd thing for me. Maybe I should give it a try again!
ReplyDeleteLovely top & fabric. Might have to try that one.
ReplyDeleteCheers....Jane.
Very nice Trac, and I like the dress option too but I'd use the blouse more :)
