Once again there is a lot of superantural fiction in the list thanks to my sisters influence which I mentioned in last years post here. I'm still really enjoying what I read although I might try to throw a few classics into the mix for this year..... maybe :)
Also, if you'd like to see how I've rated any of the above books you can check them out in my Goodreads. You can also read a bit about the story and checkout other peoples reviews which is where I get a lot of my recommendations.
Lastly, if you've read something that you think I might like.... please share! :)
Until next time.....
Ah! I eventually found one book I had read on your list - "The Help"! Obviously my tastes are quite different to yours! I'm a fan of Kate Atkinson with Jackson Brodie as the protagonist!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I'm going to check out Goodreads for doing this for next year & look at reviews on some of your books. I read the Tomorrow & Ellie Cronicles series this year too, loved them. Tracee xx
ReplyDeleteCongrats on exceeding your initial goal! I plan on doing the challenge again this year as well. I really am loving my nook, I don't think I've read this much, or enjoyed it as much since I was a kid! Best of luck this year!
ReplyDeleteI love reading, but I'm so bad at picking out new books! I'm printing out this list and will be checking these out from the library. They all sound like books I'd enjoy - I've already read the Undead books and loved those. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! I thought I was doing well with the 29 books that I read in 2011.
ReplyDeleteIf you like reading "cozy" murder mysteries I can recommend highly Laura Childs; Monica Ferris (although I have been disappointed in a couple of her books recently) and Betty Hechtman.
Jim Butcher is a new author (to me) and I found out about him through bouncing around blogland; his Dresdent Files series seems to be really good (I've only read the 1st book in the series but I enjoyed it) -- it is slightly in the fantasy genre but not totally fantasy (the main character is a wizard and there are fairies, but it is based in the "real" world as opposed to a "fantasy" world.
It can get slightly graphic -- guess that would come from the male writing "style" but I didn't find it too distracting.
Good luck with your reading in 2012!
